Giving in to my innate curiosity, and perhaps against my better judgment, I decided to explore Purdue's steam tunnel network during the construction of the Lawson Computer Science Building. It turns out that there are motion sensors down there. These sensors alert the authorities. You can guess the rest. At least I got to keep the pictures...
